Hard Rock Bet Returns to Florida

The Seminole Tribe launched the Hard Rock Sportsbook app back in November 2021, and that launch came with very little fan fare. It appears that the Seminole Tribe enjoys surprises as it just shocked the sports betting industry yet again.

The Hard Rock Bet app is now live in the state of Florida, on a limited basis, and this launch caught everyone off guard. The Seminole Tribe initially stated that in-person sports betting would return in December, but there was never a mention of online sports betting making a comeback.

What made this even more surprising was the fact that the Seminole Tribe is still in a legal battle at both the state and federal levels. Even though things appear to be trending in the right direction for the tribe, there is still a chance that this mobile app could be shut down yet again.

Back on a Limited Basis

Sports bettors in the state of Florida that had previously signed up for a mobile account through the Hard Rock Bet app were given access to place wagers on November 6th. Those customers were sent an email message explaining the good news, and there were limited betting options available.

The Seminole Tribe has also announced that new customers can complete the registration process to be added to the early access list in the future. This is just a trial period of the new Hard Rock Bet app in the state, but the tribe is hoping to roll out the complete version at some point soon.

While this doesn’t mean that online sports betting is back in the state of Florida, it’s at least heading in the right direction. Many bettors were not expecting this relaunch to happen so soon, and that is why they had yet to register for an account.

Hard Rock Bet App Grows

The Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile app was struggling to keep pace in a very competitive industry, and it was clear that a change needed to be made. The new and improved Hard Rock Bet app has drawn rave reviews since it first launched, and it’s starting to pop up in more and more states.

Now that the state of Florida has been added to the list, the Hard Rock Bet app is available in seven different states. Those states include some of the biggest in the market as they are Arizona, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.

While it’s clear that the Seminole Tribe is trying to be aggressive with its Hard Rock Bet app, it is also looking to be smart moving forward. Sports bettors in the state of Iowa were notified that the app would be leaving the state on November 28th, and customers should begin to withdraw their money that they have.

What Happens Next?

The Seminole Tribe and sports bettors in the state of Florida are all hopeful that the Hard Rock Bet app will be here to stay. While that isn’t a guarantee, it does seem like things are headed in that direction, but things can change quickly.

The U.S. Supreme Court just continues to side with the tribe in all of the arguments, and the Florida State Supreme Court is expected to do the same. Even if that is the case, you can expect to hear more complaints coming now that the Seminole Tribe has taken this step.

Florida is now the most populous state with legal sports betting, but bettors in the state are not going to see any other options coming.

It won’t be long before we add Hard Rock Bet to our list of regulated sportsbook operators.
