PokerStars New Jersey Releases Preliminary SCOOP Schedule

Though its boss man is in some trouble, PokerStars is quickly carving out a large spot for itself in New Jersey. Having already garnered nearly half the cash-game traffic in the state, it is now starting to add more games and features. This week, site representative “PokerStars Dylan” announced on Two Plus Two that a Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is in the works for New Jersey and shared with the poker community an initial draft of the SCOOP schedule.

Exact dates have yet to be announced, but Dylan said SCOOP will take place during May. Twenty-seven events are on the schedule (though Event #14 is missing, so that could mean that there are only 26 events and that it is just a numbering problem), each with a “high” and “low “ buy-in tournament option. Every low buy-in tournament of the pair is one-tenth the price of its high buy-in partner. SCOOP is slated to run for two weeks; the schedule below is portioned off by day of the week, as the dates are currently unknown.

As one might expect, the schedule is very No-Limit Hold’em heavy, but there are Omaha, Stud, and Mixed Game tournaments on the roster, as well. SCOOP is also chock full of game variations like Shootout, Zoom, Turbo, Knockout, and Ultra Deepstack. PokerStars is currently accepting feedback on the schedule and may make modifications to it before the final version is rolled out.

The events will also have guaranteed prize pools but those figures are being kept close to the vest right now.

In addition to the SCOOP preliminary schedule, PokerStars has also added $25 Spin & Go’s to the New Jersey client (the previous highest buy-in was $10) and has added the following cash games, per Dylan:

NLHE and PLO: $10/$20 and $25/$50
PLO H/L: $5/$10
LHE: $30/$60, $50/$100, and $100/$200
8 Game: $20/$40, $40/$80, and $100/$200
Stud: $20/$40 and $40/$80
Stud H/L, Limit Omaha H/L, and Razz: $3/$6, $5/$10, $10/$20, $20/$40, and $40/$80
